DEDICATION TO LATE GRANDMASTER DJ PRECIOUS JINGLES

If there is any Dj in Ghana who commanded both respect and fear among his contemporaries and fans, it was this man.  In his prime, Precious Jingles with other top national djs, Harry Lord, Young Joe, Eben Dee and Vee Jay changed the way spinning was done in Ghana.  With competition to be the best so keen at the time like today's NDC and NPP or like the Sports rivalry between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, the top 2 Ivy League Spinners in Ghana in the 80s to the early 90s, Sky Hawks and the MEC Sounds were the super crowd pullers.  Precious Jingles as the leader of MEC Sounds ensured that they gave patrons something that they would never forget-Purely high definition quality sounds and engaging entertainment.  Grandmaster Precious Jingles as we call him, introduced a lot of innovations into spinning. The concept of mobile discos started in the  United Kingdom  in 1966, when Roger Squire began an entertainment service in North  London  named "Roger Squire's Mobile Discothèques". The word  discothèque  is French for "disco". Within two years, Squire had fifteen mobile discothèques performing approximately sixty functions each week. He performed at events attended by celebrities and royalty, at countless college dances, wedding receptions, and all kinds of social events. Over the next few years, many copycat "Mobile Discos" started to emulate his successful formula. During this period, London got its " Swinging London " reputation. Squire later set up a disco equipment supply service that sold disco sound and lighting systems to budding DJs, both in the United Kingdom and abroad. [3] In the 1980s and 1990s, mobile DJs began to form associations and create professional business networks that evolved into annual trade shows...
